Washington, DC – Today, Americans for Safe Access (ASA), a national nonprofit dedicated to ensuring safe and legal access to medical cannabis, launched its 2022 Vote Medical Marijuana voter guide. The guide is designed to provide critical information to interested voters about which elected officials support medical cannabis legislation.

For the past 25 years at the state level, and more recently at the federal, we have seen an exponential increase in legislators who support medical cannabis policies. We are closer now than we have ever been to passing cannabis-specific legislation at the federal level to protect patients - but not without electing candidates who support cannabis patients.

“ASA created the Vote Medical Marijuana guide to help educate supporters and the general public know where their legislators stand on these issues," said Abbey Roudebush, Director of Government Affairs at ASA. "It is critical for medical cannabis advocates to vote in this year’s midterm elections to strengthen medical cannabis laws at both the state and national levels for the benefit of patients all across the United States and its territories.”

Vote Medical Marijuana can help medical cannabis patients, caregivers, and supporters determine if their Congressional representation is doing everything possible to help move forward cannabis policy. While ASA does not endorse any candidates, the guide is a one-stop-shop for information on how candidates have supported, or opposed, policies important to medical cannabis patients and the cannabis marketplace.
